brown fence
Walnut: A deep, woodsy brown.

Step 2: Prepare the Surface

Proper preparation is key to achieving a durable and attractive finish.

Clean the surface: Start by removing any dirt, mildew, or old paint. Use a bucket of warm water with mild detergent or a garden shed cleaner and scrub the surface with a sponge or brush. Rinse thoroughly with clean water and allow it to dry completely. We would not recommend painting the same day.

Remove Loose Paint: If there is any peeling or flaking paint, use a scraper and wire brush to remove it.

Sand the Surface: If painting a shed, lightly sand the entire shed with fine-grit sandpaper for better adhesion. Wipe away any dust with a damp cloth and allow surface to dry.

Step 3: Paint using HydroPro Garden Paint

Now it’s time for the fun part – painting!

Stir the Paint: Ensure your HydroPro Garden Paint is thoroughly mixed. You can use HydroPro Garden Paint straight out of the can or you can pour it into a paint tray for roller use.

For Sheds: Use a smaller paintbrush to paint the edges, corners, and any trim. This will help you get into the nooks and crannies that a roller might miss. Then use a paint roller or large paint brush for the larger, flat surfaces of the shed.

Apply the paint in even strokes, working in small sections to ensure a consistent finish.

Apply a Second Coat: Once the first coat is dry, apply a second coat for full coverage and a deeper colour.

Step 4: Finishing Touches

Clean Up: Wash your brushes and rollers with warm, soapy water, and clean any spills or drips immediately.

Admire Your Work: Once the paint is completely dry, step back and admire your newly painted garden shed and fences!

Maintenance Tips

Regular Cleaning: Keep your shed looking fresh by cleaning it periodically with mild detergent and water.

Touch-Ups: Keep some extra HydroPro Garden Paint on hand for touch-ups as needed.

Inspect Annually: Check your shed and fence panels annually for any signs of wear or damage and address them promptly to maintain its appearance and protection.

With HydroPro Garden Paint, transforming your garden shed and fences is an enjoyable and rewarding project. Whether you choose the popular Prestwich Blue or the vibrant Spring Yellow, your outdoor space will become a standout feature in your garden. Happy painting!
