Executive Summary
Prodrive is a world leading motorsport and technology business operating in the motorsport, automotive, aerospace, defence and marine sectors, and in 2015 completed a move to a purpose built 110,000 sq ft which required coatings that matched the extremely high standards they demand of their products.
Challenges
Prodrive required a new home that could be a representative of the market leading work it undertakes in a variety of fields.
The purpose built facility had a variety of demands for it’s paint requirements, from ultra impressive business lounges to hard wearing maintenance and mechanical areas.
As technical partner to the company HMG were in prime position to consult and supply a variety of coatings that fitted their needs.
The Solution
Being involved from the outset HMG Paints team of technical experts were able to specify the perfect coatings.
Whilst the building work commenced our team worked alongside Prodrive and A & H Construction to ensure the coatings were supplied during the correct stages of the build.
With a short build time communication between all three parties was key to ensure coating didn’t delay the build and final hand over of the building to Prodrive.
Over the course of the build HMG supplied a mix of traditional solvent based coatings along with our new water based decorative range, all of which was backed up by technical support throughout the process.

HMG Decorative Emulsion
Available in both Silk and Matt a High Quality decorative interior paint giving excellent properties combined with fast drying times.
HMG Contract Emulsion
A decorative matt emulsion that has excellent opacity that improves as the paint dries. Excellent results can be achieved with a single coat. Designed for easy application on interior plaster walls and ceilings.
Floor Paint (from HMG’s Industrial Coatings)
Polyurethane Floor Paint has been designed to provide a hard wearing yet economical surface coating. Its durability is achieved by the use of excellent quality resins, which also provide the user with a product that is very easy to use.
uPVC coatings
A 1K Vinyl Acrylic with exceptional flexibility and adhesion. For direct application to plastic substrates and architectural cladding.
